Ariel Merivil is the Minister of Music to Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. At Wilshire, Ariel oversees the music ministry and worship for the congregation, conducting the Wilshire Sanctuary Choir, Wilshire Youth Choir, and the Shekinah Choir. Previously, Ariel served as the Associate Minister of Music to First-Plymouth Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he led worship as a conductor, keyboardist, and vocalist for six and a half years.

Recognized for his exceptional vocal skills, Ariel is known for his thoughtful and deeply expressive communication through music. He has coached vocalists and choral ensembles, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment. Ariel's extensive background includes collaborations with various ensembles, such as the Nebraska Wesleyan University Unity and University Choirs, University of Nebraska Choirs, Wartburg College Choir, and others. Notably, he has been featured as a soloist and vocalist with distinguished groups Wartburg Choir, Exigence Vocal Ensemble, Sounding Light, Cantorei at First Plymouth Church, Plymouth Choir, Abendmusik Chorus, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Atlanta’s Chorale—New Creation, and Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra.

Ariel's dedication to diversity and meaningful expressions of music in worship is evident in his work, where he has played a key role in fostering a variety of musical styles, including the Negro-spiritual, gospel, global, and other contemporary genres. As a guest clinician, Ariel is committed to inspiring others and guiding them to explore diverse and meaningful expressions of music in worship. His vocation is to create powerful experiences that help connect individuals with the divine.

Ariel holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Southern Polytechnic State University (now Kennesaw State University) and a Master of Music in choral conducting and organ performance from Georgia State University. He is particularly grateful for his mentors and teachers, Deanna Joseph, Sarah Martin, David Oliver, and David Stills. Ariel has avid interests in gardening, cycling, photography, and design. He is also a strength athlete and actively competes as a powerlifter with USA Powerlifting.
